Here are the quests and their locations:

The Witch, Edna (Haunted Woods): She typically needs cheap items, and she gives you spooky food, the perfect place to stock up before embarking on a Brain Tree quest.
Esophagor (Haunted Woods): Only useful when on the Brain tree Quests. You must find spooky food for him, and usually at least one item in the two quests is expensive.
Braintree (Haunted Woods): Find him information by feeding the Esophagor twice before the time limit runs out. You are either paid miserably (I spent 22,000 for the Esophagor and I got 100 NP and a Petpet that sells for about 1,000 NP) or very well (You may get an attack fork or an expensive item).
Snow Faerie (Terror Mountain Top): Some people have had very good luck here and got items such as WAFs (Wand of the Air Faerie), and some time she asks you for motes and you get snowballs - its a judgment call.
The Chef's Kitchen Quests (Mystery Island): I used to like this guy because this is a way to increase your pets stats if you're quick with bringing items, apart from that it can sometimes not be worth it.
Faerie Quests (Faerie City): There are seven different types of Faeries that will appear randomly. If you get them different items, they will help your pet. My advice: Don't do the Earth Faerie Quests. She asks for the most expensive items and only makes your pets full. Also, create another account to get stuff because the Faeries will disable the shop wizard in your account, or if you belong to a helpful guild (such as Treasures of Neopia!) you can post your quest request on the message board and someone will get you your item. I really only do a quest when the price is going to be less than a Codestone will be. Otherwise you might as well buy the Codestone and go to training school instead.
    Dark Faerie - Raises hit points (Asks for toys)
    Fire Faerie - Raises strength (Asks for clothing)
    Earth Faerie - Regains lost hit points and fills pet up with food (not worth it) (Asks for magic items)
    Light Faerie - Raises level. (Ask for Trading Cards)
    Air Faerie - Raises speed (Asks for grooming items)
    Water Faerie - Raises defence (Asks for books)
    Faerie Queen - Super Bonus (Random increases - worth it) (Random items - from Baguss to more expensive items)
    Fountain Faerie - Gives you a pass to the Rainbow Fountain (unknown)
