---Xanth Series---
This started out as a trilogy which, due to its popularity, grew and is now on book 28! Many trilogies. There were rumours that the last book would be #27, a trilogy cubed; but with the advent of book #29 it seems the story still has much more to be told...
Xanth is a magical place, a land separate from the mundanity of Earth. A place where puns roam free, and magical creatures (such as centaurs) exist. Magic talents are part of the fabric of Xanth, most of the inhabitants of Xanth have magical talents. These talents allow them to do different things -- talking to plants, transforming objects, flying etc.
I first got into the series when I read "Demons Don't Dream" (book #8), and have since collected and read all of the books in the series. My favourite of them all will always be the one I first read -- where Xanth is part of computer game, which allows some humans to come into Xanth through the magic of the computer game -- where the grand prize is a magic talent.
Reading these books always makes me want to have a magic talent and visit Xanth :)
