These books follow the adventures of three friends in a world where ages go round the wheel of time and recur again and again, in the circle of life -- the Wheel of Time.
10 books so far, another on the way and more planned. Originally this was meant to end after 10 books; however, I think Mr Jordan has a bad case of verbal diarrhoea! Nevertheless, aside from a few boring chapters (thankfully in the minority), the story still manages to hold your attention.
Rand, Perrin and Mat are more than normal men -- they are linked somehow with the fabric of the Wheel of Time, the Pattern. As the wheel spins they are drawn into adventures, sometimes beyond their control. Rand finds that he is the incarnation of powerful man (who turned mad) and he is destined to save or break the world. His friends also find that their lives are leading them into greatness -- thrusting greatness upon them, whether they wanted it or not.
I do have a fascination for magical books, I guess its the kid in me that always wanted to be able to do spells :)
