---Harry Potter Series---

One of the most famous series of our time, these books have already been made into several feature films.  A 7-book series about a young wizard, we are currently waiting in anticipation for the 7th book, which we hope will be published summer 2007.

The books are about a young boy, Harry Potter, who on the day of his 11th birthday discovers he is a wizard.  The story follows him and his two best friends, Ron and Hermione, through 7 years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry -- through hardships, into and out of dangerous situations, making friends, falling in love and acting like a typical teenage boy.

I believe the series was originally intended to be for children; however, it has become popular with all generations - even my Mum loves these books.  It has been made into several movies, and there are loads of fan sites dedicated to the books, along with stories and pictures based on them.  I'm not sure what it is about the books that fascinates everyone.  I think it may be the fact that most people used to/ still dream about being able to do magic -- I know I did :) -- also they are extremely well written and draw you into the story as you read it.
